Hi there,

I mentioned in one of my recent blogs about our big fundraising event coming up at the end of the month…. The other big event that we have been hoping to arrange was for a UK band called The Pedantics to come to Malawi and do a tour and raise money for the Wildlife Centre and guess what? They said YES!!

The band arrived on the 26th September, thanks to Ethiopian Airlines who have arranged extra hand luggage space for them so that they can carry their guitars on board with them. It was my job to meet them at the airport, conduct their first interview on African soil and then see them safely relaxing in their hotel. Very Rock n Roll!! Sunbird Hotels have agreed to cover the costs of their stay in their Capital Hotel here in Malawi, so a big thank you to them as well.

It has been great to see everyone pulling together to make this tour work, all in aid of raising money for the Wildlife Centre. It’s been hard work to put together but very satisfying when you see how people/companies are willing to help.

Their tour plan is:
Sept 26th – Wild Night Out Capital Hotel, Lilongwe
Sept 27th – BMIS Lilongwe (5-9pm picnic for school children)
Sept 27th – Umunthu Theatre, Lilongwe (9pm to late)
Oct 3rd – Doogles Bar, Blantyre
Oct 4th – Fat Monkeys, Cape Maclear

Then the band will go on to Salima to take part in the Lake of Stars event on 10/11/12/13TH October.

Here’s to a great tour, fingers crossed. I’ll let you have photos at the end of the tour….. if I’m still alive!!
